About the Laser -
Engraving, Marking, or Cutting.
What's the difference?
LASER ENGRAVING - In the engraving process material is removed from the object. The amount of material can vary from micro thin to deep relief 3-D. The material being engraved and the final product needs will determine the depth of the engraving. For example wood, acrylic and other plastics work extremely well with deep engraving. 3-D or deep relief plaques and artwork are popular uses . Photographs will reproduce with amazing clarity on marble and anodized aluminum as the laser burns away the top layer leaving a brilliant and permanent image. Virtually every material on the list to the left can be engraved. The laser power is adjusted to remove just the right amount of surface material.
LASER CUTTING - With tolerances measured in the thousandths of an inch, your cuts can be as precise as you need them. The laser can cut completely through many materials. (Woods, plastics, paper, cloth) Infinite shapes and limitless applications. For example your design in a CAD program can turn into real product such as architectural models or customized model parts. Who said an award had to be confined to the boundaries of a geometric shape? My laser can cut through 1/2 inch acrylic in a single pass. Throw away the traditional confines and put down the exacto knife let me put the laser to work for you. Stencils, fabrics, control boards ...
LASER MARKING - There are some materials that the laser can not penetrate or the customer's application needs do not call for it. Stainless steel and tile for example can not be engraved or cut by the laser. Using the laser in combination with a chemical surface agent gives me the ability to permanently mark the surface of these materials. For example, tools can be serialized or tiles customized without affecting the structural integrity of the material.
